After many long fought battles Unitey Kull pulled out a victory for The Manhattan New Music Project but rumbling amongst the other players was about her conspicuous use of her computer during the game. Unitey stated that she was “working” but did anyone actually see the fruits of her labor? What is ‘New Music’ anyway? There are a lot of questions circulating in the charity poker community, one man from Malta who wishes to remain anonymous said “She was cheating, she was barely paying attention and then she had all my money”. While we don’t want to sully her victory, (by cheating or not, can’t be sure) it brought up the issue of using computers and smart phones at the table. One lithe player with a father living in Brazil and a mother married to a man named Hardy who didn’t want her name used had this to say, “I was totally against it, for game speed and camaraderie, but that was before I had an iphone. Now I understand.” Well the jury is out but I’d bet this will be another issue that is finally settled only after a ridiculous shoot out where the hero comes away unscathed and brings us all to our senses with a witty and reasonable speech and then walks out and leaves the saloon doors swinging. The only question left is, who will be the hero. Come to the next game to find out!

Cancer Double Beaten. Two in a Row. Sloan Kettering Gets the Gambling Bump. Aug. 13, 2009
Chris Tonetti shocked and stunned the nation by pulling out a stunning victory in the last hand of Change Jar Charity Poker and really took the piss out of cancer by donating to Sloan Kettering Cancer Research. I’d say cancer was the only one who didn’t have a good time. And that’s fine. We hate cancer. I’m not racist but I have strong hatred of cells that just don’t know when to stop replicating. RNA that just too big for it’s britches sometimes. It was the second game held at Outpost Cafe in Clinton Hill. And it was a Christkiller (when a Jew says it, it means ‘AWESOME’). A great time was had by all, helped by $3 Brooklyn Lagers and Eric Ost’s Birthday Cake and mid game fiesta.
